Are you a foreign nurse who wants to work in the US but does not know where to begin? Good news! Serenity Home Healthcare Inc. is seeking foreign nurses to work as registered nurses in the USA.

What does Serenity Home Healthcare Inc. do? Located in Niles, Illinois, we provide compassionate and professional home healthcare services in the Chicago area to our clients within the comfort of their homes, communities, and facilities.

Pondering on how to get started? Serenity Home Healthcare Inc. would guide you through the steps to take your NCLEX test and acquire your license. We will offer you employment as a registered nurse, cover most of the NCLEX cost, sponsor you as an employee for immigration purposes, and assist with your relocation to the US.

1. PRE-QUALIFICATION

1. Graduated from an accredited nursing education program in your country of education.

2. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in another country.

3. Have at least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).

4. Meet English proficiency as stated within Section 343 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996.       If required register and pass the IELTS / TOEFL English test:

i) IELTS- Academic Module with a minimum passing score of 6.5 (overall score) and 7.0 (spoken band). Click here to commence

ii) (TOEFL iBT) with the following minimum passing score: • Paper-based test is 560 • Computer-based test is 220 • Internet-based test is 83

5. Have a CES evaluation done by either CGFNS or ERES to verify that your nursing certificate is equivalent to the US nursing certificate.

2. CANDIDATE SELECTION

  1. Review. Resume and application would be reviewed to ensure it meets the criteria.
  2.  Test. The applicant must pass the knowledge test, if successful the applicant would be interviewed.
  3. Interview. The applicant would be interviewed to ensure he/she is the right fit.
  4. Agreement. The successful candidate would sign off an agreement, which includes a job placement with Serenity Home Healthcare Inc. upon successful completion of the NCLEX Exam and approval of the visa.

3. CREDENTIAL EVALUATION REPORT

The report must be obtained through CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) or ERES (Education Records Evaluation Service, Inc.) The report ensures that applicants meet the basic requirements and are fit to take the NCLEX. Candidates would be responsible for the cost of this evaluation.

4. ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST

International nurses are to take and pass an English language proficiency test (TOEFL or IELTS) if mandated and results are sent directly to the state nursing board. Nurses with entry-level nursing education from the following countries and their language of instruction and textbooks are in English are exempt from the English language proficiency requirement.

5. NCLEX-RN

What is NCLEX-RN?

Once you have scaled through the selection process successfully; we would guide you through the entire steps in passing your NCLEX-RN licensure. Also, we would sponsor your work visa / green card to get you fully started as a full-time employee with us.

What is NCLEX-RN?

This is a standardized US Board of Nursing test that will earn you a Registered Nurse license to work in the US and it’s unique to each state.

Serenity Home Healthcare is an Illinois state-based employer. For you to take the Board of Nursing (NCLEX) test, you must:

– Apply for licensure to an Illinois State Board of Nursing. For more information, click here NCSBN. 

– Register with Pearson Vue for the board exam. The cost is $200 plus additional foreign fees. Click here for the application and registration link. 

According to the webpage, NCLEX examinations are currently administered in Brazil, Canada, England, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Taiwan. Click here for more information.

6. WORK SPONSORSHIP AND VISA FILING                                                     

 As your US-based employer, Serenity Home Healthcare would sponsor you for a work visa or green card, depending on your situation. Once it is approved, you would apply for an immigrant visa at the US Consulate in your home country.

The immigration process has to be completed before traveling to the United States and a visa must be obtained before immigrating legally.

7. RELOCATION ASSISTANCE

Serenity Home Healthcare would provide a one-way flight ticket for the candidate only. A one-month paid accommodation would be made available to make relocation easier. Free airport pick-up and concierge service to accommodation would be provided.

8. BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAM

  1. NCLEX licensure fee may be covered.
  2. Work sponsorship for the candidate.
  3. Green card sponsorship could include spouses and children below the age of 21 (Conditions apply).
